Safari Books Online is an on-demand digital library providing over 41,796 technology, digital media, and business books and videos. A stable Internet connection is required to stream content from the site.

Safari Books Online accommodates 40 simultaneous users. If you are denied access, try signing in during a less busy time of day.

How do I access it?

  1. From sfpl.org, go to the eLibrary tab
  2. Click on eBooks and then select Computing and IT Books (Safari Books Online).
  3. Sign in with your library card and PIN (if outside the library).

To find titles, use the search box or browse by category on the left side of the page. Click on a title to access it. Due to licensing restrictions, content can only be streamed online in a web browser, not downloaded.

How do I find Safari Books in the library’s catalog?

Type the following phrase in the search box to limit results to Safari titles: EBOOK SAFARI.

Is there a mobile app?

No. Due to licensing restrictions, no mobile app is available for library users.

Where do I find help?

  2. If you have a technical problem, submit an “Ask for eBook assistance" form on the library’s eBooks page.
