Accessing Kindle Books from the Libby App
You can read most Libby books on a Kindle ereader (available in the U.S. only). If you're using a Fire tablet, we recommend installing and reading with Libby instead.
- Open Libby.
- Borrow an available title.
- *Tap Read With....
- Tap Kindle.
- You'll be taken to Amazon's website. If prompted, sign into your Amazon account.
- Tap Get Library Book. The book will appear in all Kindle apps and devices associated with your Amazon account.
*If you have already borrowed a Kindle book but have not claimed it from Amazon, tap Shelf, Loans, and Manage Loan, and then follow Steps 3 to 6.
Accessing Kindle Books from the OverDrive Website

- Sign in with your 14-digit library card number and PIN/password. (Reset PIN/password.)

- You will now be redirected to Amazon.com. If prompted, sign into your Amazon account.
- Click the yellow Get Library Book button on the right side of the page. Be sure to select your preferred Kindle device. To send your ebook to other Kindle devices and apps, go to your Amazon Content & Devices and redeliver the ebook to your desired location(s).

Returning your Kindle Book
A Kindle Book borrowed from the Library will automatically return itself at the end of the loan period, usually in 21 days. But if you'd like to return your Kindle Book early, please follow the instructions below:
- Log into your Amazon account,
- Go to Content Library under Account & Lists.
- Click Books under Digital Content.
- Check the box next to the Kindle Book you want to return.
- Click the Return this book button, confirm the return, then click the button again. (Amazon will confirm the return with an email notification.)
- The Kindle Book will be removed from your Kindle device or app the next time it syncs.
Please note Kindle Books cannot be returned from the Libby app.
Renewing your Kindle Book

- Go to My account, then Loans (or in Libby, Shelf, then Loans).
- Locate your Kindle Book, then click/tap Renew. Confirm the renewal.
- Log into your Amazon account.
- Go to Content Library under Account & Lists.
- Locate your previous copy of the Kindle Book, then select and delete the title.
- Return to your OverDrive account or the Libby app and click the Read now with kindle button.
- Once redirected to Amazon, claim your Kindle Book from Amazon by clicking the Get Library Book button.
