Q. How do I renew my Library Card?

Most types of Library Cards are valid for 4 years.

Contact us by chat, text, web form, phone: 415-557-4400, or email: ask@sfpl.libanswers.com to renew your library card account. Include the following information:

• library card number
• full name
• residence address
• date of birth
• email address
• telephone number

Teachers can renew by emailing from a school email address or in-person with proof of current teacher status. Visitor cards may be renewed in-person only with a $10 fee.
