If you already have an active Treehouse account. please Log In.

Please make sure you have read the following information before submitting your request for a new Treehouse account:

1. About our subscription. We provide a limited number of Treehouse licenses (seats) for SFPL cardholders. Licenses are available on a first-come, first-serve basis. The free library subscription is nearly identical to the paid one, but the Techdegree program is not included with the library subscription. Treehouse is accessible only from a web browser; there is no mobile app.

2. Do not send multiple registration requests. We will process your new Treehouse account in the order it was received. Due to limited staffing, please expect delays. Please do not submit multiple requests from different email addresses. Since your Treehouse account is associated with your library card number, using an email address that is not associated with this card number will delay the processing of your Treehouse account.

3. Check your email. After you have submitted your request for a new Treehouse account and we have verified your library account status, Treehouse will send you an email with instructions on how to sign into your account. As a courtesy, Treehouse will resend this email three times before the invitation is canceled. If the invitation is not accepted, you will need to register again. If you do not see the email in your Inbox, please check your Spam and Junk Mail folders.

4. Please keep your account active or it will be automatically deactivated (See the Automatic Account Deactivation Schedule below). Due to the high interest in this resource, accounts with no course activity (e.g. watching videos, taking quizzes, etc.) in a three-month period will be deactivated without prior notice. Simply signing into your Treehouse account without engaging with the platform will not register as account activity.

5. Account reactivation. If your account is deactivated, you may request for it to be reactivated by sending a message to onlineresources@sfpl.org. Do not submit a request for a new account using a different email address — this will delay your request for account reactivation. Your Treehouse account is associated with your library card number.

By clicking on the link below, you are agreeing that you have read and understood the process for registering and maintaining your Treehouse account through SFPL.

Yes, I have read and understood the process for registering and maintaining my Treehouse account through SFPL. I am ready to register for a new account.

Inactive Treehouse accounts are automatically deactivated on the following dates (once per quarter):

  • January 1
