Q. What is Boundless and what happened to Axis 360?

If you are experiencing a Boundless service problem that is not related to your library card number and PIN/password, please open a Boundless Support Ticket.

What is happening?
SFPL's Axis 360 digital service upgraded to Boundless on Tuesday, September 26, 2023. The Boundless mobile app will be available from your device's App Store at that time. See compatible devices. SFPL's Axis 360 website will switch over to the new Boundless digital service.

Will my Axis 360 checkouts, holds and other data be moved to Boundless?
Yes! All your user info and history, including holds position, bookmarks, notes, and other saved data will be seamlessly transitioned to the new Boundless platform.

What do I need to do to prepare for the move to Boundless?
Please make sure that you have updated to the latest version of the Axis 360 app on your devices. Beginning a few weeks before SFPL’s Boundless transition, Axis 360 users will be directly notified about the transition through the Axis 360 apps and website.

What happens on the day of the Boundless transition?
Users with the latest version of the Axis 360 app will receive in-app notifications over the weeks leading up to the transition. On the day of the transition, you will see an announcement page with a link to download the new Boundless app from your App Store. If you have already installed the Boundless app, the link will open the Boundless app on your device and prompt you to log in to your account.

What are the supported devices and operating systems?
The Boundless app is supported in iOS 13 and above, and Android 9 and above. Users with earlier OS versions will need to upgrade their mobile operating system to a supported version.

Do I log in to Boundless with my Axis 360 credentials? 
Yes. Use "Find My Library" in the Boundless app to identify your library, then fill in the required fields.

Note, you will need your library card number and PIN/password to log in. If you need to reset or create your PIN/password, use the PIN Reset Tool.

Will the Axis 360 website also change to Boundless?
On September 26, 2023, the Axis 360 website upgraded to the new Boundless service. Users who navigate to the old Axis 360 URL will be automatically redirected to the new Boundless website. After logging in, you will see all your account activity.

Will Axis 360 continue to be available after the launch of Boundless?
Starting Tuesday, September 26, 2023, you must use the Boundless app and website to access your ebook/eaudiobook account and digital service.

What are Goals & Insights?
With Goals & Insights, users can set and monitor their progress toward personal milestones like daily reading minutes, books read or listened to per month, and more.

What is My Shelf?
My Shelf gives users a personalized page for all of their digital activities. View checkouts, holds and wishlist items, progress in programs and suggested titles based on reading activities and interests. To make My Shelf the first page that you see in your Boundless account, go to Profile Settings and select Set My Shelf as my home page.
