Teacher Cards are for borrowing items needed for curriculum support / classroom use. Teachers may use their adult card for library materials checked out for personal use. The Teacher Card allows teachers to borrow library materials for longer, request more reserves and request multiple copies of the same item. 

A "teacheris a person currently employed as a teacher, educator, administrator, librarian, childcare provider, or afterschool program provider at a school, childcare facility, or afterschool program. Teachers who teach in or reside in the City and County of San Francisco are eligible for a Teacher Card.

Teachers are responsible for paying for or replacing lost or damaged items.  Teacher card privileges will be suspended if charges are more than $50. SFPL is fine free and there are no overdue fines. 

How to get a Teacher Card:
• Apply in person at any SFPL location.
• Show valid photo ID with current residence address and provide a work address.
• Show proof of current teacher status such as ID, pay stub, or original homeschool affidavit.
