Getting Started

  1. Get the Boundless mobile app for AndroidiOS, or Kindle Fire. You can also access Boundless in a web browser at sfpl.boundless.baker-taylor.com or through the SFPL Catalog (BiblioCommons).

  2. Log in with your active 14-digit card number (no dashes or spaces) and PIN/password. (Reset your PIN/password.)

  3. Borrow an available title or place a hold on a wait-listed one. You may borrow and reserve up to 25 titles.

Borrowed titles are available for 21 days by default and return automatically. Shorter loan periods are available. Available holds must be checked out within three days.

How do I renew my Boundless title?

If no one is waiting for a title, the option to renew it becomes available within three days of its expiration. You may renew a title through the Boundless app or website. Please note that Boundless titles cannot be renewed through the SFPL app or website.

How do I return my Boundless title early?

A Boundless title return itself at the end of the selected loan period. To renew a title early, use the Boundless mobile app or website. Go Checkouts and look for the Return option next to your title. Please note that Boundless titles cannot be returned through the SFPL app or website.

What about Kindle Books?

Kindle-formatted ebooks are not available from Boundless, although you may use the Boundless app on newer Kindle Fire tablet devices. Use Libby to borrow Kindle Books.

How do I get help with my Boundless account?

If you need help with your Boundless account, please open an SFPL eBook Support Ticket. Library staff will respond within two business days. For the fastest response, please include as many transaction details as possible, including all the steps that led up to the problem or issue.

You may also reach out to Boundless Technical Support. Please note that they cannot assist with problems related to your 14-digit library card or PIN/password. Boundless support staff will respond within five business days.
