Check out period

You may check out most library items for 21 days. With the exception of LINK+ and InterLibrary Loan, most items can be renewed for another 21 days up to 3 times if no one has them on hold. Check here for information on renewing eBooks.

Item limits

The number of items you can checkout depends on the type of library card you have and what type of material you want to borrow. Most card holders (i.e. Adult, Juvenile, Young Adult, Senior, Homebound) can have up to 50 SFPL and Link+ items checked out at one time. 

The exceptions are for Visitor, Digital Access, Welcome, and Teacher Cards. The chart below shows how many items each type of library card can have checked out for regular SFPL items, LINK+, Interlibrary Loan, and eResources.
